“Do you have any advice for people just entering the profession?

You aren’t entitled to this. The world is full of suffering and pain and misery and hopelessness and you’re damn lucky to be in the running for a job that pays you to use your mind and not a shovel or a gun. Treasure the opportunity. After that: Show up. Be nice. Be persistent.”

Once someone told me when you use Air Conditioning in your car it uses significant amounts of fuel.
I’ve been driving around in 27 degree heat saying “lets just wind the windows down”. I really had no idea how much fuel it did use but without thinking on it to much the feeling felt like a saving of $5.

My uncle recently said “You’d use more petrol winding down the windows of you car, it’s basically nothing”.

I now have Air Con on full tilt no matter where I’m driving.

pool

I purchased an inflatable paddling pool for Shepard. The process went Purchase, unpack, inflate, fill, bathe up to this point I’m fine about it all.

The next bit of empty water, deflate, pack away is the bit which I’m not so fine about.

I’m gathering in the factory where it was manufactured they have machine that packs these things into the boxes you buy them in. Surely it’s robot like with pressure and masses of steam and noise coming out the side while each one gets folded. Well I don’t have one of these machines and it just doesn’t fit back into the box. The thinking stopped at the purchase point. Would of it hurt to include a storage bag, make the box a little bit bigger?

I guess it’s back to sitting on the plastic pool while I try and force it back into the tiny box, while the corners slightly are pulling apart at the flimsy cardboard joints.

dog

Character of monster or living thing in shower booth of matter spoken by telep
hone with you the other day. It dares to call so this time. With the bell dog.

My memory revived.

I turned 31 years old this year, too.
The sound of a checkered bell is still played in the shower booth with the bel
l dog that takes root in the human instinct by the scary one.

Are it violated by neither the monster nor the bell dog that lurks in you?
Of course, with stourbie st.

tethering.jpg

I recently had an issue with my iPhone 3G where the tethering settings totally disappeared off my iPhone. I couldn’t find any documentation on the interweb so I thought I’d post my fix. Hope it works for you.

What you will need:
- 3.0 or greater software
- Latest carrier settings from Vodafone which should of come down when you updated your phone

1. Open up Terminal and run this line. This allows the file to be sent to your phone.

defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

2. Connect your phone to iTunes. Select the phone and then Click the ‘Restore‘ button while holding down ALT.

3. This will launch a pop up window, select your carrier settings. The carrier update files are stored in /Users/[Username]/Library/iTunes/iPhone Carrier Support/ in Mac OS X and C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Carrier

4. This should then update your phone and you’ll be on your way.

In the weekend I visited a friend of mine whose 11 year old son told me that Wee Man from Jackass was dead. I couldn’t believe it. Well maybe I couldn’t believe his cause of death which was explained to me..
“He ate to much salt in a stunt and his insides just dried up, he died.”

Later on in the day I researched it a little further. I had questions was Wee man really dead and if so how did he really die. My research became rather enjoyable… just reading comments. It seems no one has a straight story and my quest for truth soon went out the window.
I’ve tried to collate some of the better quotes.

Enjoy.

It’s a story of good vrs. evil it was so totally awesome I just had to post this. Steve Wiebe was a super nice and really genuine and stayed that way his whole time he was in a war of huge nerds.
